Are you adding baffles to that sump? said:
yep. Tomarrow i start building the custom sump. I just bought my acrylic sheet yesterday. DIY. i likie the feeling of saying "i did that"

I have a customer tank. Its a 75 gallon cut down a couple inches.

I went and bought a 1/2 sheet of 3/8 acrylic. Cut the pieces to size and routered the edges. I also cut all my teeth.

I still have some finishing toushes. I bought a torch today to smooth out the top. I tested it on a spare piece of acrylic. It sa prety easy.

To cut my teeth I made some 1 time use jigs.

Several trips to lowes today and Dry fitting is done. Tomarrow i am going to cement it. If anyone has suggestions please let me know.

Maybe too late now, but I would recommend you change those unions on the return pump to true union ball valves instead. You're going to have a sizable spill from the plumbing above it (even though you have a ball valve higher up) and you'll have to drain your sump first when you have to service the pump

i concur with the above^^^^
Use ball valves btoh before and after the pump, when you have the service the pump you will love the idea of having them, if you dont- you will hate life for a little while. :)

That sounds like a great idea. thanks for the heads up. i was thinking of finking a place to reposition the pump for more room.

You did a great job building the stand. It looks very nice!
What kind of wood did you use for the stand?

I used Select pine. I am buiding the doors not. I have stocked it with fish now. Have some nice ones. All get some updated pictures up. I live in forney and have been dealing with the tornado the last few days.
