After about a year, anytime I would move them to clean mine my finger just sunk into them would just start coming apart, making more to clean up.I am happier just using my extra rock in the sump, they rinse out easier and obviously solid and don't break apart.
Man I use marine pure sphere they are awesome I place them after my skimmer in with my return pume when they look a little dirty I blast them with a turkey baster. Marine pure has so much surface area to them more so then rock and so much more room with them but that's just me and my nutrients have drop with in range I don't really have to dose to much to keep them down.
