Anyone know how to work this heater?!?

Have you left it plugged in for a while? My controller takes a little while before showing temp reading. Once displayed I have a button to push that allows me to set temp.

Couple of years ago they had a major problem with water getting inside the units.
 
A little while but not too long. Does it always say EC when you first plug it in?

I do to have that brand, mine is another brand. But for about a min mine blinks 00 then shows temp.
