Just got the new tank home today. 175 gallons 60"l x 30"w x 24"t Dual corner overflows. I love how deep it is. Black stand with doors on both ends and the front. It was used as a freshwater tank and the guy made me a heck of a deal on it. Cleaning it in the garage while I work on some dedicated outlets for the system.

Equipment:
30 gallon trigger sump (Older Model)
Eshopps s200 skimmer
2x Mp40 for flow.
Mag 12 for return pump. (For Now)
170# of dry rock curing in tubs, mostly Fiji.
3.5 5 gallon buckets of dry sand. ( This will be on the bottom with about 1-2" of live sand on top.)
Lights..... Haven't got that far.
Apex: Eventually
Heaters: probably end up with 3 300w heaters.

Questions:
Will I need a chiller?
Dosing/Reactors? not planning on going crazy with sps but who knows.
Other things I'm not thinking about right now.

Since everyone was over for the game, why not put them to work.

I wanted to paint the back glass before I moved it in but that didn't happen. Maybe I will take some black paper to it.

If you go mh especially 400 watts you will need a chiller. I ran 2 X 400 watt my on a 48L X 30W X 24H and chiller was needed. When I swapped to 3 radion pros my chiller has not come on in over a year.

Good luck with your build

Thanks. The plan is 3 Hydra 52s so I think I will be okay. I just have to save up for them and an Apex.

Got the top of the returns done tonight. Flow crossing in the back and two fans facing the front/down. It should create some good movement.

Any suggestions on covering the back glass? I don't want to look at an outlet. Lol.

It's been slow going but I finally have water in the tank. Got my aquascape done and sand in. I need at least one more heater then I will get my salinity up.

I'm in a holding pattern until after Christmas. Got to see what Santa brings me then go from there. Hopefully some lights or at least funds for some.

I'm waiting for a cabinet to be built to house ato reservoir and the apex along with other tools and supplies.

I currently have a mag 9 for my return pump. The plan was to have two dc return pumps but I'm thinking one big one will work.

In the process off filling it up.

It's been a while so here's where we are today.

I bought a t5 light that I wasn't happy with the coverage.

Ended up with some AI Vega's and I'm pretty happy with them.

I still have some more to do but it's getting there. I have some float switches ordered so I can get the ato going. Once that is done I will officially start the cycle.

Thanks guys. It's been a slow build but that was the plan from the beginning. There are things I plan on upgrading down the road but the wife keeps telling me we need to pay bills.

Awesome job on the wire management! Just saw the pictures of the couch. How hasn't the wife killed you yet? [smilie=rofl.gif] . Are you planning on ceiling mounting the lights / hanging it by rails?

Luckily the couch was broken about a month after we got it and that was 6 years ago. Yes, the plan is to hang them with some ext rail and the hanging kit.
