What do you put under your stand?

I am getting near completion on my new tank build http://www.dfwmas.org/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=95079 and have a quick question. I have hardwood flooring under the area where the tank will be going and wanting to see what is the best way to protect them? I have a sealed area inside stand, but most know that doesn't always catch everything. Should I use a rug, but if so won't that just absorb and hold the moisture on the wood?

I use rubber backed carpet that you can buy from Home depot. They are black and are about 3' X 6".

used silicon on the seams then sealed it up with oil base paint and nothing gets through it and it was cheaper than the pond liner as I had most of the items at the house already.

I like that idea. Is it a rug style or can it easily be cut down to size?

I put a cut out piece of carpet to go around the stand and on the inside of the stand i put a piece of thick plastic big enough to sit under the wood.

I use this. Plastic on one side and foam like on the other side.

curious do you just cut it to size under stand only, or also leave some under a rug maybe around the tank?
