 Hi All,I’m setting up a 55Gl tank which was previously owned and I want some advice on other options on the pvc plumbing setup. It’s pretty stiff and wonder if hoses can be used? See pic below and Thanks for ant feedback you have  Johnhttps://flic.kr/p/2cubpHq

You can certainly use hose with barbs and hose clamps. Just make sure it will not be possible for the hoses to kink.It will probably also help with vibration noise along with a silicone mat under the pump.

I've seen good success with silicone hoses too, although you should use the correct clamps.  BRS sells it by the foot.  Pricy, but kink resistant and great at keeping things quiet.In any case I don't recommend steel hose clamps, even the stainless ones tend to rust out, which is no good on a pressure line.  I'm a fan of the plastic snap clamps, although there are a few options.
