Cyanobacteria and green algae please help

Hello,My name is Isabel, I am VERY new to the saltwater aquarium world. My husband and I decided it would be a good hobby, I was surprised to find that it is much more than a hobby. I love it. We love it. Anyway, I noticed some stuff growing on my live rock, and through some investigative work (and google) I determined that it was a mix of green algae (mostly on the top of my live rock where the lights are very bright) some cyanobacteria on the sides of the rock, and some coraline algae. I understand that cyanobacteria and green algae are not good for the tank. the situation is not out of control. I would like to keep it that way, and hopefully fix it. Do you have tips or suggestions on how to fix it? The internet is full of info, but it is very disorganized. My good friend referred me to this wonderful group. I hope you guys are able to help. Thank you! PS: I have a tiny 13.5 gallon tank with 2 clownfish, 3 mini-hermit crabs, 1 emerald crab, and 2 snails.

With cyano you could try to increase the flow in the areas where you see it.  As for the other algae, what are your current nitrate and phosphate levels?  What kind of lighting and how many hours a day are you running it?

Not sure on the phosphate and nitrate levels, I had them tested last week at the store and was told they were fine. I am going to get it retested tomorrow and find out for sure(Im testing every week at the moment). Right now I have been limiting the amount of time that my lights are on, about 6-8 hours max per day. They are LED lights. Thank you for the tip on the cyano though, I will definitely try that. How long do you think until I see a difference? Im not in a rush, I just want to make sure its working

How long has your tank been up and running? When you get the water retested, please try to get the actual values from them so we can get an accurate picture of what is going on.You might also try siphoning out as much cyano as you can and if you think the problem is growing you can get some RedCyano RX:http://www.melevsreef.com/catalog/redcyano-rxHere is an article with more info:http://melevsreef.com/critters/cyano-bacteriaMarc also just did a YouTube Live session about this subject:https://youtu.be/9u8McizQqbU
