Are any butterflyfish reef safe?

No, but they like to nip at corals. The Copperband Butterfly fish will decimate your aiptasia if you have any, but after that, it will look for something else to nibble on. You would either have to go find rocks with aiptasia to feed it occasionally or risk it nipping away at your LPS/clams.

Pyramid is the only one listed as reef safe on the various sales sites. All others are listed "with caution" or not reef safe.

I have a pyramid and he's a model citizen in my tank.....most well behaved inhabitant I have. Great personality too.

Copperbanded in my tank with feather dusters, acans, Zoas, and lots of sps. He goes crazy for mysis. I also have a fire shrimp and cleaner shrimp living in tank as well.

Sent from pay phone in the airport.
