Matt, wanted to get a hold of you a while back. Lost your number. Shoot me a text.

Updates coming soon. Haven't had a working computer. Progress has been made.

Ok, so it has been a while but nothing has changed. i do have some updates that have been in place since last year that I never showed. Just some real quick snaps of the lights hanging and some tonga rock that had been added. Other than that the tank is "marinating " right now getting ready. I am taking it slow, very slow.

You can see i've left the lighting uncut and unfinished. Once I get the correct bulbs in place and supplement with T5 I will raise/lower as needed for correct par and then trim everything to make it look a little better. Also, i could add a hood later with an open top to keep this same sysmtem in place. I would like to cut down on the light spillage.

I don't like the height of my rock work. There are some parts info like but as a whole I think sucks.

Rolling around the idea of adding sand.... I like the benefits of bare bottom but I like the additonal dimension a sand bed gives....I know people could debate this to death but leaning towards total revamp and adding sand.

Either what Ecko said, or make one side shorter and the other taller. It's too symmetric, and I generally like symmetry. It also seems very dense.

Yeah maybe stack that left piece on the left pile looks like it would fit there

I believe that piece might be support. I haven't started this overhaul yet as it will probably take me a few hours and I need to set that time aside. Some of it (possibly including this piece) were densely packed to hid the cinder blocks in the back. Since I plan on moving those to the sump I could make it a little more spacious.

Nice to see an update. :) said:
Yes! I wish I had more but when you start a new tank with all new rock and new everything else sometimes the real updates are "look, a tiny spec of purple coralline algae! I hope it will spread!!"

Updated rock work pic + sand add. Still cloudy after a couple days. Overall I like this a lot better, more open space.
