wierd moldable - Mold-a-Holder

Does anyone know who is selling this type material locally? I prefer to pick it up now instead of wating from the mail.

Thanks,

I talked with Patrick, the owner of FloatSwitches.net, and he told me that he had to buy it in bulk and cut it up for his customers. It doesn't cost much, and shipping must be pretty cheap. I'd just wait and get it from him, or use acrylic instead.

It reminds me of something called "orthoplast" that is used for splinting body parts, same type of thing solid but when heated it is moldable and stays in position when cooled. But after searching for that its expensive from the medical sites I found it on.

Have you considered using arcylic plastic or plexi-glass? It might take alittle more heating and molding to get your finished product, but results should be the same.

1/16" or 1/8" piece with a blow torch will do the trick.

You can get a torch in the plumbing department at Lowe's or HD for less then 20 bucks

Good luck
