Where to buy spectral aluminum sheets?

Can anyone point me to a local vendor where I can get 24x48 (or longer) sheets of spectral aluminum for building reflectors? I need to make a couple of retrofit kits for custom light setups, and they are odd sized (so I can't just order them online).

I dont know, but I would look in the yellow pages under sheet metal shops, you could call a few of them and see if they can point you in the right direction. And if you find what your looking for then let me know, I might go in on some with you. If you want to Of cource.

You can find this material at Ryerson Tull it comes in .0312 2' x 8' sheets.
You can look up their contact info at ryersontull.com

Just called them and they said they dont sell polished aluminum sheets. He said they do sell mirror reflective (#8?) sheets of stainless steel but he said it is not marine grade and would not hold up well with salt water.

Now I could be wrong but I thought stainless steal was non corosive with salt water. How much was that material? is it worth trying to see how long it last.

Well what Im thinking is, if its a reasonable price why not try, porticarly if your lights are shielded. If you got two years out of them, at a decent price, then I think it would be ok. Then replace them when needed.

The last few people I know tried to order from these folks were told they don't honor that anymore. I will try on Monday!

At one point I was going to buy mirror finish reflective sheets and contacted Alanod for the pricing. Alanod is the company that produces the reflector metal used in the IceCap T5 bulb reflectors and is usually very highly reflective and stands up to salt pretty well. I don't remember the cost of a sheet of it, but it was reasonable considering what it was. You might want to contact them again and see if they will sell to you and the current pricing. Here is the company and you can read about the reflective surface qualities at IceCap or at the company itself.
