What's new in the past year?

It's been a while for me with a busy school year. Now that summer is here I'm dedicated to getting the tank back to looking good. I need to trim some corals and rearrange some things.

I'm not asking for details just some of the new topics I need to search for. For example, are people still using biopellets, LEDs still hot etc...
 
Yes, biopellets still work great if coupled with regular bacteria dosing, and lots of people are embracing LEDs. Most seem to be using 2-part dosing with automated dosers. Some new skimmers have come to market that use DC pumps that allow you to dial in the preferred amount of pump power now.
 
Need to trim some coral eh? :)))) I'm starting to believe in leds more and more . I see many ppl w great color and growth w leds now, but its still a complicated subject.
 
I have a diy strip of blue/white LEDs with Meanwells but get emails from some places with fancy LEDs. I'll have to check out the new ones.

A DC skimmer- hmmm- interesting.

And...I have A LOT of Monti cap to trim!!
