Hello all, returning to the hobby after a couple of decades away...LOTS to learn about. Setting up a 75 reef, going with T5 HO quad lights,DSB, and about 100 lbs of rock. I'll be doing a build thread so you guys can keep me in line, LOL. What do you guys think about Wave Point bulbs? My lank will be approx 18" deep after the DSB, what will the approx PAR be? I was considering going ATI, but then I found these....http://www.wave-point.com/Lighting_folder/LampMain.html Thanks for your help!

I think they use wavepoint tubes at Fish2Morrow. They used to anyway. I use ati, but if the wavepoint are at a real good price, like 10, or 12 dollars, I might go with the super blue actinics instead of the ati blue plus tubes. I use ati coral plus tubes as well, and I don't think any other manufacturer has a comparable bulb.

Thanks guys, I have done some research, and I have found some like them better than ATI bulbs. It'll be a few months before I need them anyway, but here is the link to Amazon....http://www.amazon.com/Point-4-Pack-54-Watt-Universal-Aquarium/dp/B00B5TOI2Q/ref=pd_rhf_dp_p_img_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1MJ77VF8BBBD67HM8HB0 Any one have a guesstimate on the par at 18'? I don't have a par meter, so any info will help. Thanks

I wouldn't begin to guess what the PAR readings might be. Far too many variables like which bulbs you choose, quality of the reflectors, water clarity, how high off the water line your bulbs are etc.... But a 4 bulb fixture should give you good coverage and growth potential in a 75 gal IMO.

Thanks Mike. I'm going to go more LPS and softies in this one, so your info confirms my thoughts. I plan to go SPS in a future build...180-240....HOPEFULLY!
