ok so i found one shell empty, and one of my hermits in another. my tank only has 3 so i think i still have one. my amonia is 0, im confused, whats going on? i see them everyday cleaning.
You could have a predator crab that hides and eats your snails in the daytime. The hermits need to get a new shell when they get bigger, so they could be shell swapping. Usually LFS will have empty shells you can put in the tank so that hermits will just take a free shell when they need to grow.
