Test Kit ?

I'm an elos fanboy. Use them for Mg, Calcium and nitrate. Actually I usually use a cheap API kit for calcium to get a general reading. When I want a more precise reading I use the elos. For phosphate I got a phospate meter and love it. I could never tell the color differences on the charts in the test kits.

Here is a link to the Hanna meter.

Elos Alk, Ca, Mg and PO4
API Nitrate

The Elos kits are, in my opinion, superior based on several criteria..

Ease of Use
Ease of Color Change, Alk, Ca and Mg are virtually impossible to mis-read.
No hazardous chemicals used (Per Elos Rep)
Accuracy

They are on the expensive side though.

API are accurate enough, but some of the color changes are hard to read and they do contain hazardous materials. They are very affordable though.

Wow, before shipping, about $110 for the Elos test kits Dave mentioned.

I too am looking for quality test kits, just didn't know they'd be that much. Compared to API at $40...

Elos does sound like good tests though

I use the API kits across the board. They are plenty accurate enough to help you maintain steady parameters and they don't break the bank.
