Sump question

I have a three chamber sump on a tank and a single tub sump on another. I don't see a difference in performance or maybe I don't know what to look for. I am asking because I am thinking of going to the tub idea for swapping out the 3 chamber. Another idea is to put 29g tanks as single chamber sumps. This would give me a bigger safety range for when the power goes out.

Thoughts?

One "section" is not a great idea. First is unless you have a ATO the sump level will fluctuate and affect skimmer perormace. And then you have your skimmer spitting bubbles out in same chamber as return pump. Causing micro bubbles in display.
If no skimmer still run the risk of micro bubbles from air coming in from tank drain.
