Solenoid float valve 1/4" JG

Not sure what it's actually called. I saw one of these online somewhere and I can't find it now.

It's a float mechanism for the sump that opens/closes a 1/4" JG fitting for auto-topoff.

Anyone know where I might look?

Are you talking about the Kent float valve?

I'm not sure if this is what you are referring too, but here is one link:

(The solenoid is at the bottom right of the page above)

I have seen it as part of various kits also, and as a standalone valve at some other sites, but I can't find the links at the moment.

go to Ebay, you can get them for 11 bucks with shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7756245952&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

Update: I bought the liquid level control from premiumaquatics.com and it works with an air pressure switch and a solenoid valve. It works well and I just put JG a fitting into the lid of one of my water jugs and turned it on it's side, ran the 1/4" tubing (soft) to the solenoid valve and then into the sump. The air pressure switch is not quite as sensitive as a float, but i like the "no moving parts" solution.

Thanks "fish2morow" for the link. I ordered the one from ebay also. I'd like to play with attaching it to the serial port on my aquacontroller and driving an x10 connected pump. anybody else doing this?

Lmcnutt,
I'm going to be doing the same thing with my AC Jr., but I need to find a solenoid.

I like the one that Doug posted, but I don't want to pay $35 for it. Anyone know a cheaper source for ro/di solenoids?

Chris

Never ordered from 'em, but the eBay listing says they're located in Shanghai, China, so it might be on the proverbial slow boat from China...

(I.E. I wouldn't worry TOO much unless I didn't see anything by 2 weeks or so).

Thanks Ken, yes this is the one I'd seen before. However, I didn't like their float assemblies, so I went with the pressure switch above. Wouldn't this work well with one of the $5 shanghi float switches? I ordered one, who knows when it will arrive. I will post when it does.

Got the float switches from China today. Took about 3 weeks to get here. They look good. Just need to wire them onto a cable that will plug into the aquacontroller.
