Skimmer going nuts after using RedCyano RX and 25% water change

Last week I added 24 drops of Blue Life USA Phosphate RX in my 40 gallon tank like any other time. Did a 10 gallon water change on Sunday and plugged the skimmer back in on Monday. ?Skimmer immediately started foaming like crazy that it filled the cup in seconds. ?It is a Reef Octopus 110-int. ?I hooked up the drain to go back into the filter sock and opened the valve completely lowering the water level. ?It is Wednesday and the skimmer is still foaming like a rabid dog and I don't know if I should do another 25% change or turn it off. ?Does anyone know what went wrong and how to fix it?IMG_2236.JPG/title edited by Marc

Maybe you over did it a little bit with PRX; it always works amazing for me and yes your skimmer will be in full working mode you may want to tune it down.Do a water change; maybe 10%I normally add half of the suggested drops per gallon and always do it at night so the fish and corals aren't impacted.melev has a good post about PRX at his website with tons of recommendations you may want to check it out.

You should keep your skimmer running when you dose Phosphate Rx, every time. ?I don't know if you've normally turned it off, but that's the wrong choice. ?Your skimmer looks perfectly normal in that picture. Dump out the cup if it fills up, and keep doing so if you must. Replace that thrown out watery solution with more saltwater to avoid changing the tank's salinity.

I should have included Red Cyano RX in the title as it was also used and is the one that requires the skimmer to be off. ?I do both at the same time since every time I have a Phosphate issue Cyano pops up and got them mixed up mentally.?

I corrected the title for you, and for all future forum search results. ?
