Does anyone know anything about or have some experience with these skimmers? I have read a little bit and I am concerned about the sedra pump that it comes with. Anyone used any mods on these (gate valve etc)?
i have the G3 and i have not modded it...i am not aware of a mod needed for the G3. i like my ASM might have gone with a euroreef b/c Marc's is so purtty :wink:
I've dome both a gate valve mod on one which is like 2 seconds and way worth it!
If you don't mind drilling another hole in it the recirc mod will make it perform significantly better without much cost, but I never got around to it on mine!
I have done the recirc mod, gate valve mod, and the feed mod. My skimmer is being directly fed from the drain line of my overflow. It is performing well and do not have any complaints about it. Very good skimmer for the price.
