Possible Pest?

Looking back in my sump area (Red Sea Max 130d) I see a bunch of these yellow things. Anyone what what they are and are they bad.

I think they are sponges. I had hundreds of them in the caves in my display tank at one time. But their numbers dwindled after some months, and I see a few here, and there now. I have described them as looking like little pineapples, and they were white in my tank.
