If you don't know about Ret Talbot and what he's doing for us in Hawaii, you should take some time and investigate. He's been one voice of reason in the debate over whether or not Hawaii's waters should continue to be a source of sustainably-collected fish for our tanks.
He's scheduled to talk about sustainable collection practices in Fiji at an event in Hawaii on March 20. When one of the PETA-like groups heard about this, they rang the crazy bell, trying to flood a NOAA superintendent's inbox with objections, asking that she rescind Ret's invitation to speak. Their position is so weak that they're trying to silence the opposition.
