need opinions for return pump

Hi All
To Make a long story short my mag 7 has ruined another impeller and nose cone. I seem to go though a set every year.
So I am looking for input for a different pump to replace it. It need to be submersible and about the same flow rating.
And quiet would be nice. Anyone have one they really like?

well 140 bucks that's a big step up from 70, I could do it but what about the fittings being metric? do you have to "engineer" the connections?

Well...seems like you have spent that much on the mag already since you have had it and now you have to spend it again. :) I stopped using mags over 2 years ago for the same reason/issues that you are having. I have never had a problem with any of the fittings.

+1 on the ehiem. Initial cost for the pump might be high but your paying for a very reliable pump. I have a 1260 that i use to run on my 29gal for over a year never had one problem. Restarts everytime i turn it off. I still use it to mix my saltwater if you count that the pump has been running for almost 3 years
