Need help hooking up chiller w/o a sump

Basically, you'd wanna rig up a closed loop, with the chiller in it...

Tube going to the chiller, to the pump, and back to the tank...

However, I wouldn't recommend a Mag for external use like this, they sometimes leak when used externally...

what about running a mag7 from inside the tank in a closed loop system? And what is a good fairly cheap external pump? said:
That should work, you'd just have a big unsightly pump hovering inside your tank...

There are many options on external pumps, I've personally had great luck with Quiet One pumps, although some people haven't had such great luck with 'em...

(Quiet One's are internet or external, like the Mag, but better able to handle being run externally)

IMHO, a sump is not optional... If there's ANY way you can add a sump to your system, I'd definitely go that route, hands down...

The benefits of having one massively outweigh the downsides, IMHO...

Oh, but one addition - I'd prefer to see at least a 20 gallon as a sump... 10 gallon is really tight...

And these make baffles in a sump a snap:
