Moving a tank

Well, we finally got a lease on our condo, so we're off to an apartment!

The 55g has to make the move there, then move to the new house afterwards. Are there any tips, FAQs, or personal pieces of advice anyone can throw out here to make sure my corals get there alive? :) (Still no fish, but thats ok for now :) )

Make moving the tank either the first thing you move or the last. A tank that size you can move with the sand in it so you shouldn't have much of a problem. Buckets for rock/fish/corals....have plenty of new salt water mixed up at the new place.

Drive slowly.....

Ah, so a 100% water change when you get there, take all water out (leave a little bit to cover sand, I'm guessing.

I've got coolers for live rock, should I fill those with water too, or just wet newspaper like DNA did when I bought it there?

Coolers are perfect for moving the rock. Keep them in water for sure. If you can move about 20g of water or so with it. I moved an 80g this way and had no problems at all. Also keep a couple of inches of water in the tank for the sand.
