Can someone help me convert 38.2 g/l or 1.6lbs to cups, i'm trying to mix red sea coral pro salt and its been a while since chemistry class. Thanks in advance

2 cups = pint
2 pints = quart
4 quarts = gallon

or 16 cups = gallon

approx 3.78 liters in a gallon

all other metric calculations use factors of 10

Hope this helps

If you are asking how much salt you add to each gallon of water? I add a heaping cup full of salt per 2 gallons of ro/di. Then I let it mix and then check the salinity. Usually that gets me pretty close to 1.025-1.026. But it can vary a little depending on the salt you use.

I use this salt as well. 1/2 cup per gallon gets me around 1.024 - 26, depending if I use a "heaping" cup per 2 gallons.

thanks for the help, its more for this salt, when I used instant ocean 2 cups made four gallons of water but with this salt they don't tell you how much salt to use in cups they say it in the terminology I used above the 38.2 g/l or 1.6lbs to make 5 gallons so it was kinda confusing for me when I always used a 1/2 cup for 1 gallon with instant ocean
