I am looking to replace the 150 watt HQI bulb that came in my 28g nano. I want to replace it with a 20k bulb. In your opinion who makes the best/bluest 20k bulb? Thanks, Shane
 
bluest? 20k is a specific color number. Of you want 'bluer' you need to add some 420nm actinics, or more of them...
 
I would guess radium also. Not many choices in the 150watt bulbs.

While it is true the 20k is a color range, each bulb is different. I was told the Phoenix 14k bulb is bluer than some 20k bulbs
 
the phoenix would have been my suggestion too, i have seen it and like the blue better than the 12k reeflux i had. i would agree it does appear 'bluer' than some 20ks ive seen...sanjay has a new updated site with the manhattan reef guys. you can go select all the different bulb types and plot them to see what their blue spectrum truly is.
