Mag 7 return pump

Will a mag 7 be enough for a return pump for a 120 gal and a 55 gal sump. ( friend has one that he will sell for 50.00 almost new )
or would the ehiem 1262 be better

I have Mag 9 on my 125 and it is really not enough so the Mag 7 would definitely not give you the turn over per hour you need on a tank that size.

So is the mag 9 and the mag 9.5 the same thing. Its there a point where to much gph is a problem?
Oh and would you like to go visit my friend i told you about with the coral.

Yes its a 950gph pump. There are 3 ways to handle to much flow with your plumbing

1. You can use a T and a gate valve and send water to your refugium if you sump setup is that way.

2. You can use a T and a gate valve and send some water back down to your return section to slow the flow to your tanks

3. You can do both of these things

Things are really crazy this week so not sure when I might get a chance to go with you.
