lighting possibility for a 10gal nano softies only tank

I helped my sister set up a saltwater tank by converting their 10 gal guppy tank (2 years ago)
She's got one of our clown babies too.
what we did was replace the 2 bulbs with coralife 50/50 PCs bought from petco, but I don't think those work too well. I gave her a bunch of corals, but even button polyps aren't doing so well having to stretch high for lights. And it seems like they have to replace it so often.

any suggestions on better lighting? diy perhaps?
is it possible to install 2 x 13w PC Retro Kit from nanotuners into the hood?

or is there a good and cheap lighting system that would go well on a 10gal?

One of the finished enclosures here:

With a 2 x 36 watt retro PC kit from there as well:

At least, that's what I'd do to get some light over a 10 gallon tank as inexpensively as possible...
