Kalkwasser problem

Came home from work yesterday to find my Kalk ATO reservoir empty and water pooling in my tank stand. It looks like the Kalk eroded through my plastic container. I searched for this but couldn't find anyone else with this problem. Anybody else have this experience?
 
I have used the same drip container for years - a white plastic cat litter jug. I used a 2 liter pop bottle that started leaking, but that type of plastic is likely to crack at some point regardless of what is in it.
