OK, I hate having to do this because I've never had a coral that I didn't know what it was before but several months ago I bought this coral from a LFS in their bargain section and haven't been able to definitely figure out what it is. Other than "unhappy on one side", anyone have any idea what this is?

And please ignore the bubble algae. I guess because it's mixed in with the purple palys neither the emerald crab or the urchin eats it. They do great at keeping the rest of the tank clean. [smilie=smile.gif]
 
My guess is some genus of chalice. Just going by the skeleton base I can sort of see along the edge and growth pattern. Either way, looks like that thing has a ton of potential to really color up nicely!

I'm assuming you're right and it's some kind of chalice. I guess I'll find out eventually. [smilie=smile.gif]
