It seems like there is two schools of thought out there when it comes to ICH.
1. You bring ICH into you tank by some outside source.
-Solution: You must eradicate it.
2. ICH is in all tanks and only becomes an issue when a fishes immune system is weak; either due to some other disease or stress.
- Solution: Eradicate it... Or fix original problem and reduce stress.
Idea #2 suggest that pending the fish isn't already plagued by some other disease that if stress is reduce and you provide a healthy environment the fish will cure its self with time...? Is this true?
My personal preference (in freshwater) is to raise the temperature and run a UV sterilizer . Maybe even add a little salt. I haven't come across it in the marine world yet; however, I am still pretty new. I imagine the UV sterilizer would kill my pods would it not?
