How to get a bta out of a hole?

How do you do it. The guy I am trying to purchase one from is trying to get it off. We have tried ice on the foot and hanging it above water. It does wanna let go... What do we do without breaking off the rock.

aim a circulation pump at it for 10-15 minutes. then turn it off. it should start to "walk" wait a little bit then try again with circulation pump
 
I recently had a similar situation with a Nem in a recessed hole (hole was about 1.5" deep)....I aimed a power head at him. After about 30 minutes, he started to walk and I was able to get him off.
