The time has come for me to automat the tanks. Travel and work schedule is increasing and the spouse is good for over-feeding the fish and pouring RO/DI water into the tanks if needed when I'm out of town but beyond that that he is clueless. I have a 4 pump doser that I want to use for both of the tanks to add CA and ALK beyond what the Kalk top-off is handling.
Do I need to have the doser above the area I want to dose? I would like to place it so that it doses into the sump of the DT and into the 45gal grow-out tank which does not have a sump. Can I place the doser 4-6" below the level of the 45 gal? I can go higher than the tank, but would like to keep the aesthetics as clean as possible since the tanks are in a living area.
