I have this growth on some of my rock and it looks horrible and I have a feeling that it isn't good. Any help would be appreciated. [attachment=0]Cropped Growth.jpg[/attachment]

Does it come off easily with a turkey baster or toothbrush?

Looks like a sponge. Grows in a mat and has leather feel? I never had it in my tank but heard it can really take over.

It doesn't come off. It's a solid covering almost like a skin.

My apologies for not being more "active". I was unaware there were posts to this subject. Previously, I did not have my notifications set but I have rectified that. Back to the "growth"....Is there a way to remove it or do further research as to what it is?

You could manually remove it, burn it with a laser or put a rock over it. If it is no harm to the tank or tank mates, just leave it.
