I made this tank for my FW cichlid and rainbow tank,
but the same thing can be done for anytime you need a
refuge for some type of critter. I'm moving some krib
fry into it because I do not have another tank to set up
with a mature filter ready and I wanted to keep them in
the water parameters they are use to but had to get
them out of the general population of the tank.
The tank glued up and ready to go into the 150g.
The tank is 24x5x7.5
alt="">
End view with the slot for over flow and a holder to put
a sponge in to keep the fry from exiting the tank.
alt="">
just a front view.
alt="">
Hanging in tank, on the left under the tank is a small power
head that is pumping tank water up into the fry tank about
40g an hour.
alt="">
It is held up on one end tied to the front rail of the hood,
on the other end it is tied to a PVC pipe across two
of the crossmembers.
alt="">
Substrate added some rocks and other things to make it
livable.
alt="">
The new inhabitants. 13 Pelvicachromis Pulchers - 3/8" + tail
3 weeks out of the cave.
