Cynarina - For cindy

[I didn't want to highjack the feeding brain thread, but in it Cindy asked about my cynarina. So here is my red cynarina. The one in the LFS (Saltwater Solutions) was much bigger (fully expanded the mantel was ~10"). This is a single polyp coral and the mantel can expand alot. It has a single mouth in the center. Sometimes there are also feeders along the inside ring.

Now I got this one at the last meeting at Saltwater Paradise. They said it was a cynarina. However, checking Borneman's book I believe it to be a scolymia. It has a mouth in the center but the mantel is not translucent and the skeleton is heavier and different shaped.

Hopefully they will get big enough that I am forced to get a bigger tank :D]

[I tend to agree with Eric Borneman's description. And all three are very nice pieces. So are you target feeding each one?]

[Yes, I have been target feeding them. I suspend a 2 liter bottle (bottom cut out) over the brain to feed it. Need to get a bigger bottle to put around the scolymia. It is hard to keep the sailfin tang away. He is such a pig.]
