Cut off My MJ Spout...

I just did this Mod: HERE

Now that I have sps, I needed the flow. Wow! [(you must say this next part like Forrest Gump)] That is all I have to say about that.

How close can I put the powerhead to my SPS? In order to get the highest flow, my sps are in a direct line from the powerheads.

Chuck as long as they are not too close to the SPS you should be okay. Too close and it will eventually blow the tissue off. Aslo if possible best to have it pulse.

I have 4 MJ1200's (unmoded until Wednesday) in my 180g. Right now all have Hydor's. Think I could do away with my Hydor's and mod all 4?

The alternative is to just mod 2 and leave 2 with hydor's. Seems like I would get enough flow jolting all over the place with 4 mod's.

My tank is 30" high, and all my MJ's are near the top.

I have a powerhead 402. I was wondering if I could do this mod with other powerheads. Anyone know?

this mod is amazing...I used to have 2 MJ1200 on my 40 gallon, I cut the end of the 1200 and i am gettting too much flow to where it knock everything off. I ended up sizing it down to MJ600 and still get more flow than the old school 1200.
