can you build your own fish trap

i have a damsel i need to get out and wanted to know if you can build a trap cheaper than buying one?? if so, whats the build involve??

you can use a 2 liter bottle, cut the top off and invert it, put it on its side and place some food inside

wont the fish just swim out when he sees you?

thats why you invert the top of the bottle, the funnel shape guides them in, but not out. you only want to cut the top of the bottom to the size of the fish, no larger. ive caught a pigmy angel with this in no time at all.

If you connect some fishing line to the bottle's cut end, you can then tug it when the fish is in. Now the funnel is in a new location because the bottle rotates almost 90 degrees. The fish can't see the clear plastic and can't find the exit quickly enough. Pull the string to lift the bottle, reach in and pull it out full of water and that fish.

You could even use fishing line to stich the two sections together, but wedging it in there may be enough. Or glue, I suppose.

You can also use plastic cable ties. That's what I made mine out of.
