Calcium keeps stopping my Tunze's

I have 4 Tunze 6125's on the back side of my tank. It doesnt take more than a month or two before calcium encrusts around the metal rod and stops the magnet from turning (e.g. zero flow from it). Is there something I can do (or stop doing) that would help this? Or is this just a matter of standard maintenance?

I never have that issue cliff. I just have to clean the corraline algae off the covers.

Where do you keep your calcium at?

No kalkwasser. Just 2-part.

I thought I was keeping my Ca at 430, but bought new kits and it was at 500. I am letting it slowly drop to 450 now.
