Advice on light

I'm setting up a new tank and I have an area thats 24 long 10 wide and 14 tall. I'm building this for chalice corals. What light would you guys use and how far off the water?

I'm thinking I could do power compacts 2-3 inches above the water level. If I do t5s I would have to hang them higher. Any input?

It's too close. Keep the lights at least 7" off the water, if not more. Might as well provide some room to work in the tank, no? ;)

And to keep the bulbs from heating up the water too much. Agree that you want lower light levels. T5s would probably be great. I think you have to replace PC bulbs more often and they are probably getting to be harder to find. I have most of my chalices at the bottom of my tank over a fixture that is set to lower levels than all the other fixtures in my tank.
