3 Cooling fans in the Hood
moon lights
about 80 lbs of mixed FIGI and base LR
Multiple Zoes, Ric, One Mush and a few well feed Aiptasia ( already dosed )
I even have a Frag rack in need of frags..
* note my Skull rock i saved from the last tank..

Only allowed to add 3 attachments... So i will make it short...

Rock Placement .. I was going to build a large cave like tall structure but soon realized that by doing that i am taking alot of light from the bottom portions of the tank that future corals will need..

It is a excellent complete setup ...
Already repaired the lights and added about 40 pounds of dead FIGI from old build.
I will probably be slowly changing the base rock for FIGI ... But for now.. stabilization is key..

The issue is i have been changing rock formations getting ready to add corals etc... anticipating were they will go and adjusting..
it has gone through a mini cycle already... And is well under way to being stable..
Additional Cleaning crew due any time now.. knock knock... NOW

That skimmer rocks too...
The 40 sump really adds to the water volume

I have a TALL rock i put up on the left side and i am trying to figure out what corals will be going there... lol

UPDATE
First tank layout .. Yes i moved the rock..
Made a nice cave to the right... and a smaller one to the left..

Left

Right

And all together....

now i swear.. i am going to leave it .. lol..

watch it grow and buy some additional live stock ... crabs , shrimp, fish etc...
Then corals.. a nice shelf coral or 2 ... then we shall see..

BUT I DID ADD SOME ZOE... course i have no idea what they are... lol

And here they are...
don't ask me what they are .. i have no idea..

Tank parms are solid... just finished the full gambit of test...
Ammonia , Nitrate, Nitrites all 0
DKH - 8
Water taste like the perfect salt level of 1.022

But
Calcium was a little high for my taste... @ 480 course i think my KENT purple has done it..
And Ph a little low .. 2 test... one 7.8 the other 8.2 i added a little ...
Phosphates were .25 ....

may do a water change today... we will see..
I may let it stew for a few days and see what they do naturally without my help
It does not help it is in my office were i work .. lol

Daily testing now...
Why ...

I put a canister filter in place to rid me of the floaties...

So far the test show only a slight cycle .. my worry is obviously Nitrates and Nitrites....

Once the water clears up ..... i plan on taking it out... a couple weeks should do the trick...

Honestly i thought i would see more of a cycle spike ... but so far it is minimal at best...

Cant wait tell i get the money for the LEDs ....

Then a new Monti ... and a couple of snails..
I know it is tiny.... but it will grow ..

Ok so maybe i am weird.. was playing with the camera but a couple of snail pics.

My Tank today

you will note the canister plumbing i have...
All parms are still zero.. BUT if and when they start ... OR a month from now.. it will come out..
I had a canister on my older tank that did very well.. I like this cascade much better but continuously have to watch the tank parms for nitrates ..

end goal is to take it out... and use its foot print to add a chiller..

I put it in place to force a mini cycle... as I am going to be adding livestock and corals to this before the end of the month..

hopefully on the 24th :) i will be adding a few corals...
followed up shortly by and assorted gambit of fish and cleaners

So i wanted to insure a solid Cycle and bump it up to hold the load ...

Just a note.. bring some good priced montis to the swap...

Where have you found to be a good place to put powerheads with out it disturbing the sand or being to much direct flow for corals?

I have them in the back corners near the top pointing to the opposite corners..
The power heads are placed so that when i turn the return pump off that it sucks air off and on..
