5ml problem

I've been testing my water with the Red Sea ca, alk and mag for awhile. Today I used the syringe from the Red Sea kit to measure out 5ml for an API ph kit. The small glass tube has a single mark for 5ml. The syringe pulled way to much water. So which is off? The Red Sea syringe (I hope not!) or the API tube. It's off by more then a hairline correction.
Can anybody test this with there kits?
 
First I have read about it and my API is indeed off. A half mil off though will make a 10% difference, so it could matter if u needed better accuracy.
 
For PH I'm not to crazy concerned. I was just freaking out that it was the Red Sea kit. I would hate to find out in dosing to much lol. I should have known it would be API though lol.
