46" or 48" VHO

Does anyone know the total lenght including endcaps of the 46" and 48" VHO setups. I'm about the do a retro so I can use the super actinics but I have a choice of 46" or 48" bulbs. I know my T5's are around 46.5" long and the total length with the endcaps is right at 48". Is it the same with the VHO?

I believe that my 48" bulbs with endcaps are less than 49" total length. The endcaps add very little total width to the lights. (I have a 48" tank)
 
Correct, I think the bulbs labeled 48" is actually a little shorter then they really are. with the endcaps, Mine sit exactly the same length as my 55 tank
