My question is that I'm getting a used Model F of melev's Reef sump. It's a 3 chamber with skimmer section on 1 end, Refugium on the opposite end, and the return section in the middle.
I want to use an external pump. However there is not enough room in my stand for me to put a bulkhead on the side of the sump. The inlet of the pump is 2".
Could I simply put 2 bulkheads, 1 on the wall that connects the return section and the refugium section and the other on the outer wall refugium section with a 2" pipe connecting the 2 bulk heads. The sand in the refugium section should be deep enough to cover the 2" pvc pipe.
Hopefully I explained that right. Will that work, otherwise I'm going to have to use a submersible pump which I really didn't want to do.
