My 250g is 14 days into the cycle and want to get some ideas on fish, what's your favorite reef safe fish and if you can post a picture and behavior thanks :)

Magnificent Foxface Great fish always out eating algae picked him up from a guy on here that had him for 2 years. I am working on hand feeding the fish right now. My favorite fish is not really reef safe, it is the one in my avatar :)

I have a pair of Pearly Jawfish that are quickly becoming my favorite. They share the same burrow that they have dug under a rock and are quite entertaining to watch. They constantly build little sand mounds outside their burrow and are definitely people watchers. It is pretty comical to watch them snag a hermit crab that is passing by and bring it close to their hole. The crab will attempt to escape, but the jawfish keep bringing them back. Eventually when the lights go out and the two jawfish retire into their burrow, is when the hermit is finally able to escape.

No one would want my favorite fish from our 55, an Orbic Cardinal, because he looks incredibly boring. He was one of the first fish in the tank & cost $9.99, but he's got personality to spare (first time I've ever seen personality in a cardinal LOL). We call him puppy dog because he follows me everywhere, and will sit & stare at me when I'm in my chair until I go pay attention to him.

His favorite spot to watch us if we're moving around in the house.

When we first got started we bought a pair of clowns, trio of chromis and a regal. The regal was the size of a dime and we still have her today. Only one chromis still with us, but them two are my favorite. Just had them so long I wouldn't have a tank without them.

no pics and I doubt if it'd interest you with a 250g, but Dec. 2011 I bought a pair of mandarins and one was tiny. Some 16 months later the tiny one is eating like crazy but has not grown a bit. She's like a inch or under. When she comes to the front of the tank and crawls around looking for pods, either my purple or naso tang with hover right over her and escort her. I have to get a vid of that

I have to say my fire shrimp are the best 'fish' in my tank. It's always a cool trick to put my hand in the tank and they go right for my fingernails. Their claws are so small they can get really far under the nail - it's a very strange sensation. Children LOVE them. They call them lobsters, close enough I guess. I also have a plain jane Ocellaris that just is the best fish I've ever had. He hosts inside some frogspawn just excellently, shows off some swimming loops and skills all the time to people watching, isn't shy, and you can hand feed him. Sometimes the cheaper, more boring fish have the most entertaining habits.

My fav fishy is my pair of blue throat triggers so much personality they let me hand feed and pet them whenever I clean the tank and move frags around. Wish I could afford a pair of crosshatch triggers

Well the first is my Emperor Angel. Very cool fish that swims slow swift with authority. No one really pics on him and he has a very cool fish to interact with. Not really reef safe. Likes to nip here and there, but I don't care. the corals grow too much anyway. [smilie=wink.gif] He hasn't destroyed anything yet. The second one is my Bariene Tang. Very Beautiful fish. Likes to follow you around and of course the Achelies which is an aggressor in the tank.
