Sun Coral

I bought a sun coral on Friday at a LFS and it has not opened yet. Should I be worried, is there anything I need to do?

Just feed it. If you want it to open up you should just put it on a schedule and it will learn to open up when you feed.

Will it eat silversides? said:
No. Tiny foods like frozen Cyclop Eeze or frozen mysis would be best. To coax it to open, thaw some food in a small cup of tank water, and then squirt that food-flavored water over the sun coral with the pumps off. This will entice the coral to open up, which can take 5 to 30 minutes. Once open, squirt the solid food on the polyps. You can feed the polpys every 5 minutes, usually about three times in 15 minutes.

I suggest making a dome out of the top of a 2-liter bottle to allow you to feed your coral so that fish and inverts stay away and don't steal its dinner.
