I just found this today. I have an acro crab in one of my colonies but I have no idea where this one came from. I dip everything I get too.
 
If you bought any mariculture mini colonies that is where they usually come from

Yup I bought from a LFS, probably the same one your thinking of. He's out now . Bye Bye bad crab.
 
According to what I read, that crab with the black line across the front is harmless to your coral, but just lives in it.

Yes, and I have one of those in one of my acro colonies, but this guy is slightly green and furry with no black stripe and black tipped claws.

Oh, so that one is the devil, but you like the whitish one with the black stripe? Does it make quick work of acro, or are you just getting rid of it in case? I'll be looking! Thanks!

There was THREE of those guys in one of my acro colonies along with an acro crab(didn't know what it was at the time) and I tossed em out. The acro had lost lots of tissue also and I didn't know from what.
