I am taking care of Joanna and Doug's baby seahorses while they are on vacation. Their babies are from the same batch as mine. Their 4 babies are dark brown and mine are yellow and light brown. I thought the difference in colors was interesting. Here is a picture if I can get it to work.

I find the color variations very interesting - I think the color has a lot to do with their environment, lighting and other horses color.

Most of my juvis range from black to red to pinkish whereas their littermates (raised in different tanks) are mostly creamish and pale yellows.

I think it'll be interesting to see what colors my juvis take on when they go to other tanks.

It is my understanding that colors are also a sign of communication. When I had ponies I had a pair a Reidi's when they were starting there courting they would change colors.

There was even a time when if a person approached the tank one of them would go from an orange to a pinkish kind of color. It is definitly interesting.

Mine changed colors after I put in that pink and yellow coral they are hanging on to. Joanna put in a yellow coral with no luck so far.
