I have dinosaur VHO's in my 120 currently. The tank is 4'x2' & 2"tall(water depth). I currently have 4 x 110W 48" VHO bulbs running. I am finally going to upgrade to something that gives off less heat.
I plan to replace those lights with one LED fixture that is 64 x 3W and then run either 2 or 4 T5 48" 54W bulbs. I plan to start with 2 T5 bulbs and then add 2 more if needed. Hopefully I will like the light & color that produces, but I am mainly concerned with making sure I am replacing apples with apples as far as the amount & spectrum of light produced.
Besides having a PAR meter, is there a way to know to determine if the LED's with either 2 or 4 T5's would produce the same amount of light as the 4 VHO's?
Does anyone have a similar light setup over a 120?
