Removing MH bulb?

Uh... How? I can take out the right half of it, it pops right out, but the other side is stuck in there. No idea what I'm doing .

Does just the glass part of the bulb come out? Is the white part on either end supposed to stay in the pendant?

I can hear you laughing at me..

Double-Ended I presume?? Sometimes they weld themselves in, otherwise its just in there really good. These bulbs have a ceramic cross shaped piece on the end of the bulb, so some of the white will pop out. Usually when one of mine was stuck, I would pop the free side up slightly and very carefully wiggle it while running my finger under towards the stuck side and lifting.

Yeah it's double ended. So the chunky white part on either end (kind of T shaped) is supposed to release from the bulb? The whole chunk is coming out. I don't know what I'm doing at all... lol

WAIT! I got it. With some persuasion and a bit of elbow grease. As well as a completely valid fear of crushing the bulb in the process.

Another question...

Does the end type of the new bulb matter? The old bulb is the top in the demonstration photo:

And this is the replacement bulb I just ordered:

Um... Geeze. MH is so bizarre.

the First bulb you showed is the standard 250W DE Bulb. I have 1 DE fixture that is completely opposite from your problem. One side kept popping out. I had to loosen the mounting bolts on the sockets and readjust to get the bulb to seat properly. this may be the case for you as well. If the bulb is in question, it could be bad contacts and that would give similar issues as you're describing.
